AFP Targeting Pro-Obamacare Senate Democrats

Americans for Prosperity has been launching salvos against vulnerable candidates who supported the president’s new health care law. Obamacare is becoming Democrats’ biggest liability going into the 2014 midterms.  Now, AFP is going after three Democratic senators for their support over this unconstitutional federal power grab.  Senators Begich (D-AK), Landrieu (D-LA), and Hagan (D-NC) were all targeted in the latest ad campaign, which was launched just before Thanksgiving.

In a press releases, AFP said:

The latest wave of ads, which will total $4 million, starts today in Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, and North Carolina.

“Some politicians are scrambling to distance themselves from ObamaCare,” said AFP President Tim Phillips. “But people are hurting. They’re losing their doctor, seeing the plan they liked stripped away from them, seeing prices go up and their options dwindle. Political games won’t fix this. We want to make sure this is the number one issue on everyone’s mind.

“Some lawmakers who championed ObamaCare are now going through the antics of trying to ‘fix’ it. But it’s all political. The reality is less choice, fewer doctors, higher premiums, and broken promises.”

This round of TV ads will focus on Senators Begich (AK), Landrieu (LA) and Hagan (NC), as well as Representatives Murphy (FL-18), Garcia (FL-26) and Barber (AZ-2).

Over the summer, AFP carried out a multi-million dollar effort with a series of four TV ads that highlighted the negative impact of Obamacare on individuals.

Republicans need six seats to gain the majority in the U.S. Senate; 2014 has six senate races in states where Romney won by 10+ points or more in 2012. Sens. Begich, Landrieu, and Hagan represent three of those states. And Sen. Mark Pryor of Arkansas should also find himself in the crosshairs.
