It’s my firm belief that we’ll be a majority firearm-owning nation within my lifetime. That’s a great thing. An armed citizenry is just as important – if not more so – than the free flow of information. It’s our constitutional right to be armed – and we should exercise those rights to the fullest. Now, the reason I say we’ll be a majority gun-owning nation isn’t because more men are buying guns, although more men than women own firearms; it’s because the women, particularly young women, are deciding to embrace the Second Amendment.
In Colorado, women 18-34 years old are the ones lining up for gun safety courses.
According to gun educators, women age 18-34 are those most commonly enrolling in gun education classes. Second Amendment advocates say there’s never been a better time for young women to understand how to use a gun to defend themselves. [sic]
Additionally:
Self-reported gun ownership in the U.S. is the highest it has been since 1993. A 2011 Gallup poll found that 47 percent of all Americans claimed to have a gun in their home. In Colorado, the number of FBI background checks performed for gun purchases during the first 10 months of 2013 — 433,482 — already has eclipsed last year’s total by nearly 20,000.
Last September, pro-Second Amendment (aka pro-American) supporters booted anti-gun State Senators Angela Giron and John Morse from office in a highly publicized recall election. Three groups were responsible for their defeat: blue collar workers, Hispanics, and women.
Liberals still have yet to learn that they’ll never win on gun control – and it’s not a clear left vs. right issue; more independents and Democrats combined signed the recall petitions than Republicans.
There’s a rather pernicious stereotype pervading liberal circles that women view firearms as anathema, ergo they must be pro-gun control. Historically, it’s true that the issue of gun control had a gender divide. More women support stricter gun laws than men, but when it comes to personal protection; the mood changes and they view gun control as an infringement on their rights.
A Washington Post/ABC News poll from last April showed that 51% of white women think a gun in the home makes it safer. By the way, 62% of those within the income bracket of $50-100,000 also agreed that a firearm makes a home safer. There’s a saying that nothing middle class white women do can ever be illegal.
Furthermore, if women were so averse to gun ownership, how is it that more mothers are applying for concealed carry permits? The answer is simple: they want to protect their families. It’s a beautiful sentiment – and indelibly American; protecting what’s YOURS!
So, what does this mean for liberals?
Well, they can give up on gun control altogether, or they can continue to get curbstomped in elections. Liberals lost on gun control at the national level in 1994 and 2000. Without a doubt, if Al Gore didn’t try to out-gun control Sen. Bill Bradley in the 2000 primaries, he would’ve won Tennessee, Arkansas, and West Virginia – and a grand total of 293 electoral votes. Bush could’ve won Florida in a landslide; it wouldn’t have mattered.

I’d prefer liberals pick the second option, which is getting repeatedly beaten with this issue. They’ll probably continue down this route because it feels good – and the fact that they’re abjectly stupid people.
One interesting outcome from the horrific tragedy at Newtown was the feminist outcry to burn the Bill of Rights. All of a sudden, gun owners and supporters of Second Amendment rights were complicit in domestic abuse and murder. It was cited here, here, and here. Yes, “war on women” was injected into this debate. Yet, women are the fastest growing demographic embracing gun ownership. Gun sales made to women have doubled in the past decade. In fact, as of 2012, 25% of women now own a firearm; that’s a 77% increase in seven years. That could sway an election.
Yet, are these women enslaved by the so-called patriarchy, or are they exercising their rights? This is where conservatives can blunt that narrative. Female gun owners are proud to exercise their rights – and won’t allow government regulations to curtail it. Anyone with half a brain could see that in Colorado, but liberals blamed voter suppression for their defeat.
The surge in female gun ownership will jeopardize the success of future gun control pushes. Still, liberals fail to understand the concept of owning a firearm to protect one’s life, property, family, and liberty. Case in point, Amanda Marcotte, a feminist blogger/writer, views gun ownership as a crutch for the loss of male power, or something.
The Second Amendment wasn’t drafted to address issues relating to sexual politics; only someone far to the left could think of such drivel.
So, it seems women are emerging as the biggest obstacle to anti-gun groups. Female gun ownership, coupled with liberals’ unbridled ignorance and stupidity, assures us that they’ll remain in the wilderness. Nevertheless, as the one-year anniversary of Sandy Hook approaches, prepare for a despicable rehashing of the usual talking points that labels roughly half the country – and 25% of women – as crazy and extreme for being part of an emerging majority of Americans who decided they wouldn’t be subject to slaughter by the more depraved elements in our society who are aided in their carnage by the pernicious gun control agenda.
We’re winning, but that doesn’t mean the fight to keep our Second Amendment rights are safe. The war is far from over. Ladies, we’re glad you can join us.
